Glen Warren, founder of Fathers Forever, has been involved in the empowerment of men for over 25 years as a facilitator of various conferences formed to encourage and empower men to discover the combination to unlocking their future. For the past 16 years, Glen has worked as a mental health crisis counselor for persons with depression, suicidal thoughts and substance abuse issues. Glen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Adult Education and Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor.
As a single parent who has reared three (3) children, Glen Warren II, 30; Anthony Warren, 28 and Celeste Warren, 26, Glen understands the power and necessity of fathers being a contributing, positive presence in the lives of their children. He knows this first-hand and it is the very reason why he founded Fathers Forever.
In June 2004, Glen was featured in the Raleigh News & Observer Newspaper in an article written by Sharon Roberts entitled “When It’s Just Dad.” Barry Saunders has written and featured Glen in the N&O twice more with articles entitled “Giving Daddies That Push”, February 2, 2010 and “Donors Learn To Be Dads”, June 17, 2010.
On February 15, 2010, Fathers Forever received their first participant! March 7, 2010, Glen made his first television appearance regarding Fathers Forever on First Choice Life, hosted by Tim Weir on CW22. March 15, 2010 he was featured on St. Augustine Talk Radio WAUG 750 being interviewed by Joel Wiggins, and on May 23, 2010 Fathers Forever was featured on Fox 50 television show Tarheel Talk hosted by Sonya Williams. June 19, 2010 was the Grand Opening/Fundraiser Event held at The Sheraton Hotel Downtown Raleigh; over 125 people were in attendance. June 22, 2010, Bonita Best wrote and featured an article in the Triangle Tribune entitled “Bridging the Gap Between Fathers & Their Children”. September 9th and 16th of 2010, Fathers Forever was featured in a 2-part special televised on the ION Media Network hosted by Eric Brown. On October 31, 2010, Fathers Forever was featured on UNC-PBS television, Black Issues Forum hosted by Deborah Holt Noel and November 13, 2010, Mr. Warren participated in the Wake County Fall Fatherhood Forum held at South Central Church of Christ, Raleigh NC. On June 4, 2011 Fathers Forever was featured on the TCT Network’s (WRAY-TV Channel 19 Time Warner Cable) "The Public Report" hosted by Eric Brown. October, 2011, Mr. Warren made a second appearance on Fox 50 Tarheel Talk, host Sonya Williams. To his surprise & delight, he has been named by Carolina STYLE Magazine as 1 of the Triangle’s 25 Most Stylish/Influential People of 2012 and was honored on Friday April 20, 2012 at Spy Raleigh. And the most recent achievement was being nominated and winning The Light 103.9 2012 Lamplighters Awards. He was awarded the prestigious Dr. John Hope Franklin Humanitarian Award: it recognizes an individual or organization that has made major contributions towards preserving human and civil rights in the community.
900 plus fathers have been ordered to Fathers Forever. Glen’s desire and pledge for the fathers who attend Fathers Forever is to give experience, commitment and resources to provide a positive alternative to motivate, educate and equip fathers to become co-parents in their children's lives, resulting in a more productive and healthier society.
