Our highly trained staff/volunteers facilitate, coordinate and collaborate with the court system to increase the number of fathers paying their child support and decrease the number of non-child support cases in Wake County. We help to facilitate and restore the relationship between the fathers and their children in by assisting them to S.E.E. three ways:
SOCIALLY-We help change the fathers mind set about fatherhood and providing activities that promote and focus on spending quality time with their children; which includes ways to improve the father’s relationship with the child’s mother and a better understanding of the child support system.
EDUCATIONALLY– Our 24 week curriculum program, titled- “The Joys and Responsibilities of Fatherhood”, consists of classes such as: Job Readiness Training, Parenting, Anger Management (Domestic Violence), Substance Abuse and Destiny Development. Our participants receive individual coaching throughout the length of our 24 week program.
ECONOMICALLY– We help fathers become more physically responsible parents by assisting them in finding jobs and developing a structured child support payment plan to support their children.
R.E.S.E.T. — Fathers Forever serves as a map to help fathers chart a new course of fatherhood.
- Restoring – the hearts of fathers back to their children
- Equipping – fathers through classes and support groups
- Synergizing — promoting community support
- Embracing – the joys and responsibility of fatherhood
- Time — fathers encouraged to spend quality time with their children.
The Fathers Forever program consists of two components. Each component will be facilitated by a F.O.C.U.S. (For On-going Counseling United Support) coach:
30-Hour Course Curriculum: The Joys and Responsibilities of Fatherhood, consisting of classes such as Job Readiness Training, Parenting, Anger Management (Domestic Violence), Substance Abuse and Destiny Development.
Support Group: Fathers who participate in the course curriculum will receive individual coaching throughout the length of our program. The coach will provide assistance in job placement, GED if needed and other personal goals. Fathers who do not take the course curriculum may also participate in the support group.
Upon completion of the Fathers Forever program, it is our belief that the fathers will have a new found appreciation of their role as a father. We will develop cohesiveness in families, helping to create stronger communities and healthier societies.
